Where Wessex Downs Gallery Comes In
Artist and now gallery owner, Helen Grimbleby recognised that art lovers, interior designers and those of us seeking a touch of style, elegance and flair in our homes were being let down by generic, mass produced home decor and an absence of affordable galleries in Newbury, West Berkshire.
She set about creating an offer. An opportunity for us to find unique art which is both top notch yet affordable to transform our spaces. You are invited to a monthly pop up art gallery. An exhibition of fresh contemporary art which is curated to be exciting and new.
Please take your time. The tea room is open when we are for light refreshments. You can view art, chat with friends, enjoy a cuppa and often meet with our artists.
We can help you find the art that is right for you and make the process of purchasing enjoyable and easy.
We can offer advice (when asked) on art work selection, framing, hanging and display.
About Our Artists.
Our artists are members of our gallery. A cooperative.
Each artist is selected after an application process. Their work is as different as they are from each other but what unites them is their dedication to their art and the quality of what they produce for their collectors.
Our artists are at different stages in their careers. Most are early stage or emerging artists.
We all have different homes, offices and spaces which need wall art in different styles, sizes and aesthetics.
Bringing several artists work together in our gallery means we can offer you quality and choice.
About Helen
You are in safe hands with Helen, a former solicitor, charity founder and now artist. Helen has exhibited work locally, across Hampshire, Somerset and at the prestigious OXO tower on London's South Bank.
Her focus has always been on serving her customers. That is why this gallery is not for profit and driven by a desire to connect art lovers in the area with artists and their work.
