Full of life, energy and colour, Adrian’s work offers a freshness and a vitality. He has a fascination for the countryside, the rhythms of natural light and the fleeting beauty of open landscapes.
His work is confident and energetic whilst sympathetic to his subject offering a unique insight into the local landscape.
His current preferred medium is oils, which allow him to paint both quickly and expressively to preserve the energy of the moment. He also works in watercolour and other mediums.
Describing his practice as a celebration of nature we can share in his joy of painting outdoors.
Adrian develops his art practice by studying life drawing and portraiture but his first passion is painting outside, “plein air” to capture an immediate, unfussy, intuitive and authentic response to his surroundings.
Adrian is mainly self taught as an artist. He studied art in an adult education setting a few years ago which ignited a flame.
Since then he has gone from strength to strength building an engaged and loyal online following and featuring as a wild card artist on Landscape Artist of the Year in 2022.
